About

About FinWise

FinWise is a personal finance publication built for young professionals in their 20s and 30s — people who are earning real money for the first time and want to make smart decisions with it. We cover investing, budgeting, debt management, taxes, career growth, and real estate in plain language that does not require a finance degree to understand.

What We Believe

Good financial advice should not be reserved for people who can afford a private wealth manager. The fundamentals of building wealth — spending less than you earn, investing consistently in low-cost index funds, eliminating high-interest debt, and maximizing tax-advantaged accounts — are simple. The problem is that most financial content either oversimplifies them to the point of uselessness or buries them in jargon. FinWise exists to close that gap.

We believe that the single most important financial decision most young professionals will ever make is to start investing early. A 25-year-old who invests $500 per month will retire with roughly twice the wealth of a 35-year-old who does the same. The math is unambiguous. Our job is to help people understand that math and act on it.

What We Cover

FinWise publishes in-depth guides across six core areas of personal finance. In Investing, we cover index funds, ETFs, Roth IRAs, 401(k) strategies, and individual stock analysis. In Budgeting, we break down practical frameworks for tracking spending and building savings rates that last. Our Debt coverage focuses on student loan strategies, credit card management, and the most effective payoff methods. Taxes guides explain how to minimize your tax burden through deductions, HSAs, and retirement accounts. Our Career content helps readers grow their income through salary negotiation and career transitions. And our Real Estate guides help readers make smart decisions about buying, renting, and building equity.

We also publish a hypothetical Stock Pick Tracker that shows the performance of every stock and ETF we have analyzed, with full transparency on our buy, hold, and skip verdicts since each article was published.

Our Editorial Standards

Every article on FinWise is written with the goal of giving readers accurate, actionable, and honest information. We do not publish content that we would not personally act on. Where data is available, we cite it. Where estimates are required, we say so. We never recommend a financial product simply because it pays us a commission — and where we do have affiliate relationships in the future, we will disclose them clearly.

All stock analysis and financial commentary on FinWise is for informational and educational purposes only. We are not licensed financial advisors. Nothing on this site constitutes personalized investment advice. We always encourage readers to do their own research and consult a qualified financial professional before making significant financial decisions.
